The rare white olive is native to the lands of Tarhuna in west Libya and was heavily exploited during the era of the italian colonization of Libya. In recent years, Many EU funded militias committed massacres in the region of Tarhuna, leaving behind dozens of mass graves of Libyans near the same fields of white olives.
